MANUEL GONZALEZ BOLAÑOS (1951)
Painter and Sculptor. Guatemalan, was born on October 15, 1951.
He studied at the School of Architecture and Fine Arts Department of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala. He did studies of Painting, Sculpture, Jewelry and Art Appreciation in the Studio-Workshop Cabrera. He has written articles on Art and Aesthetics in local newspapers and magazines and outside Guatemala. Has taught art appreciation, Structural Analysis, Painting and Design in the Graphic Design Program of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala. His works have been exhibited in Guatemala, Central America, Japan, Europe and South America, the United States and Dominican Republic. He has 27 degrees and platelet recognition of his artistic and personal work in the field of Fine Arts, including the "Carlos Mérida" award 2021, awarded on May 26, 2022 and seven domestic and international prizes (in the branches of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving). He has made more than 3,500 works in various branches of Fine Arts in five decades. His works are at the Presidential House in Guatemala, Museums and Universities, and five works in the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Guatemala, at the Palace of Culture. His graphic artwork can be seen in the collection of The Arvil Art Gallery in Mexico City. Galería de Arte Forma 2, El Attico Galería de Arte y Centro de Documentación in Guatemala City.
