Welcome to the 2021 MTTC closed championships. The events will be run by the MTTC executive available on the night (President, Secretary & Treasurer). Due to the uncertainty of player numbers the MTTC executive will decide how to best run the event each night. We are bound to follow the NSW Health regulations in regards to COVID restrictions which, at this time, only permit double vaccinated players to attend.
Entry to any event is the usual $5 nightly fee. If you do not want to play then there will be tables available to have a hit on. I encourage all players to participate even if you are new to the club.
8th November 2021 – Random Doubles (1 Event)
Players available on the night will be will be graded into A and B Grades and receive a partner randomly selected from the other grade.
4 Teams or less will be a round robin.
More than 4 teams will become a knockout.
There will be no seeded teams. If needed byes will be randomly allocated.
15th November 2021 – Graded Doubles (A & B Grades)
The top 8 Graded players on the night will play in the A Grade and the remaining players will form the B Grade. All games will be a Round Robin format. All players will be randomly placed in teams.
22nd November 2021 – Graded Singles (A & B Grades)
Players will be graded into A and B Grades. Depending on the number of players available the competitions will either be Round Robin or Knock-out.
Competition Rules
Regular Manning Table Tennis club members only,
All games in the event to be played out on the night,
Registration is between 6:00 and 6:30pm,
1st Games to start 6:45pm,
All games best of 5 rubbers,
Each rubber first to 11, win by 2 points,
Score sheets to be given to the desk by the winning player / side,
The winner of the Round Robin event will be the player / team who has won the most matches. In case of a tie the winner will be decided by countback on:
o the most rubbers,
o the most games,
o the most points.
