December 2022 Children's Hospital Donation
MBLUG has continued our annual tradition of donating Lego to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. This year our members were able to collect and donate 373 Lego sets with a retail value of $5,874.
2022 marks our 10th year of donating to the Children's Hospital! Over the past 10 years we've donated 1521 Lego sets with a retail value of $25,218.
MBLUG would like to thank all our members for the continued support of this initiative! A big thank you to Billy @cupishalfempty for organizing our donation each year! And to Shaun @thewarkonline for working with Billy to find deals and store massive amounts of sets to donate! Well done all!
Creations for Charity 2022
Much to my amazement and enjoyment, I was asked again to participate in Creations for Charity in 2022. What is even better is Nannan let us keep the money the Manitoba LEGO Users Group raised for CfC to add to our donation this year. With creative purchasing and a donation from the MBLUG plus my wife's willingness to donate money that would have been LEGO for me under the tree; we were able to stretch every $1 we received from CfC into $1.52 worth of LEGO MBLUG. Members brought in their recent build projects to share and discuss with the group. There was a free build activity where members were divided up into 4 groups. Picture displayed is of the winning group using a limited amount of bricks.
