Research

My Research Interests include the design of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Embedded Systems and IoT, Scalable protocol design for large distributed systems, and the ICT system design in general. I am also interested in  distributed data structures, peer to peer content sharing, and the use cases of Blockchain framework.

Funded Research Projects (2017-2020)

Title: Advanced Urban Public Transportation System

Role: Project Investigator (PI)

Funded by: Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under the Early Career Research (ECR) Scheme

Amount: INR 21, 65, 730 /- (US$ 31500 approx)

Brief Description: The project addresses the problem of tracking the public transit buses and predicting their arrival time at down-stream bus-stops along the route. The crowdsourcing based solutions have been developed to identify the bus-stops, determine the occupancy and crowdedness  of buses, which in turn are used to support the scheduling and provisioning of feeder buses. Further, the bus-trajectories  are processed to  estimate the road network parameters (e.g., quality of roads - presence of potholes and speed breakers, average movement speed; Junction types - circle, cross-roads; time varying nature of junction regulation- traffic signals, uncontrolled, etc.).
