Cycle Training

We offer cycle training to both adults and children at various levels depending on riding experience.

Our training allows cyclists to develop the skills and confidence required to ride safely on today's busy roads.  

We can arrange training to meet your needs whether you want to learn the safest way to get to work or teach your child how to cycle to school.
Cycle training for children

Learn to ride!

Learn to ride sessions are the perfect way to learn to ride a bike. We use and a safe environment to learn in with 
an experienced instructor who has a high success rate in helping children to learn to ride in under two hours!

1 to1 sessions are £10 for 30 minutes or £15 for an hour and are currently run at Fog Lane park in Didsbury. Please contact us for more information.

On the road training!

We run on the road training for children who can cycle but are looking to improve their skills on the road. We teach a set of skills developed by the department for transport normally delivered in schools as a Bikeability scheme. Our qualified instructor will help your child develop the skills needed to ride on quiet roads safely.                       

Adult Training

Free Adult Training is now available to book through mcrbicycle alongside Transport for Greater Manchester. 

Cycle training is the perfect way to learn skills from an experienced instructor, whether you're looking start cycling on the road or are a regular rider who wants to gain confidence. Sessions are normally run one-to-one and can be arranged around your availability. Once you've booked, an instructor will get in touch to arrange a suitable date and discuss your aims for the session.

Maintenance courses

The perfect way to learn the skills to maintain your bike. Our basic bike maintenance course covers puncture repairs, chain and gear maintenance and brake adjustment.
Courses last 2 hours and are currently run at Chorlton Library. £25 per person.

Bikeability and the national standards for cycle training:
Our cycling instructors are qualified through the National Standards training scheme, developed by the department for transport. 

Bikeability is "cycling proficiency for the 21st century", developed for delivery of the national Standard for cycle training.
