I have a dual appointment as Assistant Professor at Forschungszentrum Jülich (INM-9/IAS-5 Computational Biomedicine) and the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (Cécile and Oskar Vogt Institute for Brain Research).
My two main research topics are Chemical Senses and Ion Channels.
My research involves using computer modelling and simulations.
The aim is understanding biological systems at a molecular level.
This work is done in close collaboration with several groups (experimental and computational).
My position is partly funded by the Ernesto Illy Foundation through the grant "Computational science of chemical senses".
