About Us

Make It Enough Foundation (MIEF) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization formed by a Board of Directors with personal ties to Putnam County and Northwest Ohio. The mission of MIEF is to provide direct financial assistance to Ohio families that are experiencing financial need as the result of an illness or death of a family member.

Although the organization’s beginning dates back to 1999, Make It Enough Foundation was legally incorporated in 2013 with personal ties to the Northwest Ohio communities. The founders of MIEF decided to establish formally after the tragic death of a mutual friend, Greg Horstman, who died in 2012, at the age of 31, after a 3-year fight with cancer. When Greg passed away, he left behind a wife, 5 children under the age of 8, and dozens of people that were unsure of the best way to help. It was decided that the mission of the Make It Enough Foundation, would be to provide direct assistance to Ohio families that are experiencing financial need as the result of an illness or death of a family member.  

The Make It Enough Foundation has three major fundraisers every year.  There is a golf outing in the summer, Trivia Night in early spring, and a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning every year.  The board of directors manages and runs these events.  The money raised from is then distributed to families through an application process.  The Make It Enough Foundation has distributed over $100,000 to families who are in need.  If you know of a family in need please fill out a nomination form under the documents tab.
