The primary goal of the club is to learn and share ideas about Bass fishing and fishing in general.
And, of course, actually get out and do some FISHING!
The club is open to students in all grade levels.
The second part is to compete for the chance to represent Lincoln-Way Central in the IHSA Bass Fishing State Tournament.
We can only enter 2 boats in the State Tournament but we are always looking for others that would like to donate their time and boats to the club for the many other outings we would like to have.
Each boat team can have up to 2 anglers.
If there are more than 8 students interested in fishing the State Tournament I will need to decide which 8 students will be chosen. This decision will be made by the head coach after discussions, fishing skills checks, and some actual fishing tournaments.
Participation in the IHSA Bass Fishing State Tournament is NOT open to students participating in Spring sports as the need to be available for Tournament series will conflict with the other sport.
We will also need as many other volunteer boats as we can arrange if we are going to have some of our own fun, practice, and qualification tournaments. We will have some Sunday tournaments in the fall if we can get enough volunteer boat drivers.
Meetings will consist of discussions about fishing techniques, tackle, equipment, and all things fishing. We’ll probably be telling some fishing tales which will be “mostly” true. Dates and times will be communicated through school announcements, posted flyers, through @LWCAC on the Remind App on your mobile phones, and this website.
We will also have some shore based get togethers at local ponds and lakes throughout the school year. We are also a new club and still defining the fine details.
