Educational video about leguminous plants for kids. This video was made in collaboration withTiphaine Chevallier to commemorate the 2016 FAO year of the pulses.
Video about TalVeg2, a research project that identifies the best plant mixtures to protect Mediterranean soil embankments after the construction of new roads and railways. Here, I explain the scientific goals of the project and the rainfall simulations we performed at CEFE (CNRS) in Montpellier, France. This video was recorded an edited by the magic Hans Reijnen.
A workshop on the ecosystem service of soil fixing was carried out with 39 school children. In this workshop, the importance of the roots to fix the soil and the effects of soil deforestation on soil erosion were explained. Two micro-catchments were created, one with vegetation cover and one without vegetation. The differences and causes of the soil erosion rates observed in the two different catchments were discussed. Also, the effect of water on aggregate stability was explained with soils from two different land uses (crop and forest) and the relationship with the other experiment was discussed.
