I am Professor of Economics at the University of Padua and Research Fellow at the Institute of Labor IZA. My main research interests are Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics.

My work's main focus is on the fundamental determinants of economic performance. I have analyzed the economic implications of labour market institutions in terms of unemployment, wages, inflation and productivity; the economics of ethics and culture; entrepreneurship and immigration.

I obtained my PhD in Economics at Nuffield College, University of Oxford in 2002. I worked at the University of Oxford, the London Business School, the University of Milan, the University of Bologna and Bocconi University. I also worked for the European Commission, The International Labour Organization, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.
