Feynman's technique is a popular technique for learning anything with deep understanding. This research investigates the applicability of retrieval strategies to deepen understanding in college courses.
Understanding is represented by the ability of the learner to articulate knowledge according to situations and audiences on the fly. Achieving such level of understanding of a myraid number of concepts in a college course is challenging. This research tries to assess and evaluate strategies that would enable an instructor to bring the average student to a deeper level of understanding through activities involving articulation.
Immersive experiences such as lectio divina and repetition of mantra, retelling of mythological accounts are well used throughout history to transmit religious and spiritual wisdom. This research investigation hopes to assess the suitablility of using similar strategies to achieve deeper understanding in college courses.
