WORK HISTORY

I was certified as a driving instructor in Manitoba in 1985 and have 10 years of experience at Driver Testing as a Driver Examiner testing all classes of licenses. I was promoted to Area Manager for Driver Testing in Winnipeg and stayed in that position also for about 5 years. In addition, I instructed a variety of theoretical and practical courses for the Manitoba Safety Council for approximately 10 years including Defensive Driving, Skid Avoidance, the Responsible Drivers Course and Motorcycle Riding.

From 1994 to the present I have delivered the Driving Instructor Course at Red River College and Manitoba Public Insurance to students wanting to become driving instructors.

My teaching career started in 1982 at Red River College teaching Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Marketing and other business administration courses and am still teaching the Driving Instructor Preparation Course. I have also taught a number of courses at Selkirk Regional Comprehensive High School up until a few years ago. At present, I am teaching at the University of Winnipeg. I teach business administration courses including Business Fundamentals, Marketing Fundamentals, Organizational Behaviour, Strategic Marketing and Mindmapping.

TRAINING

As the Driver Education Manager at Manitoba Public Insurance for 16 years, I attended an annual 4 day conference in the USA which included numerous workshops on best practices in driver training and education.

I successfully completed several advanced driving courses including the:

1. Winnipeg Police Services Vehicle Operations Course

2. Labatt’s Road Scholarship Course

3. Manitoba Safety Council Skid Avoidance Course

4. Driving Instructor Preparation Course

5. Gearing Up - Motorcycle Instructor's Course
