Isabella’s research focuses on issues related to savings and cognition in older age (full CV here). Her current structural work examines retirement savings adequacy and wealth decumulation in old age. She also investigates the effect of social and physical activities on cognitive skills later in life, as well as the role played by these skills in shaping portfolio choices and economic well-being.

Isabella is also working on 'gamifying' education. Together with Alberto she created Playconomics, an award-winning experiential learning platform that translates traditional course content into educational video games. She is currently conducting research on 'what works' in education, providing insights into ways to address the challenges of modern higher education.
