Here are various images and discussion during our transition time from Barbado to Katahdin sheep.
We found the Barbado sheep to very flighty and difficult to work with. They were not particularly meaty animals and when we brought them to the sale barn they did not fetch comparatively good prices. As we thought more and more about seriously raising sheep as a commercial endeavor, we were attracted to the Katahdin hair sheep breed.
Late December 2009 we bought 20 commercial Katahdin ewes.
During June 2010 we bought a pure-blood, registered Katahdin ram, named "BB".
