The Longino lab is designed for collections-based research, morphological and phylogenetics work. Lab resources include:
Approximately 90,000 pinned specimens in 2400 species and 200 genera of ants, in Cornell cabinets
Steel drawer cabinets for fluid-stored specimens
Automontage imaging station
Micrometer stage for precision measuring
Dissecting microscopes
Desk space for students
Additionally, the School of Biological Sciences an electron microscope and abundant expertise in DNA sequencing and stable isotope analysis.
