LAST PACMAN STANDING - GAME PLAY
You haven't got a GHOST of a chance!
Run around the course collecting CHERRIES, avoiding GHOSTS and drinking BEER.
At the start of the game at registration you will be issued with a BEERTOKEN and a PACMAN shirt. During the game this token is exchangeable for a drink at a BEERSTOP and another BEERTOKEN. There are three BEERSTOPS, the locations of which you will have to find for yourself (or ask another passing PACMAN). Each BEERSTOP will only accept BEERTOKENS of a particular colour, it is your job to work out which BEERSTOP will accept which BEERTOKEN. At each BEERSTOP you will get marked for each BEERTOKEN you are able exchange.
As you wander around the course looking for BEERSTOPS you may encounter some GHOSTS. These are easily recognisable by their large white GHOST shirts. The GHOSTS’ job is to confiscate your BEERTOKEN. They do this by catching you with a light tap on the body between neck and hips. You then have to relinquish your BEERTOKEN and return to any BEERSTOP and request a new one.
Around the course will be placed some CHERRIES (Red clothes pegs). These are redeemable at any BEERSTOP at any time, and can not be confiscated by GHOSTS. A normal BEERTOKEN on your possession may be confiscated.
For a GHOST to get a BEER they need to catch 30 PACMEN. Watch out if you see a GHOST after his/her 29th kill, as the next PACMAN caught will become the GHOST and will have to wear the, somewhat warm by now, GHOST shirt.
BEERTOKENS must be clipped to the waist or sleeve. Do not hide your beer token, GHOSTS are allowed to check everywhere upon your person. Only one BEERTOKEN may be exchanged at a time.
When caught by a GHOST you must cheerfully and promptly give over your beer token.
BEER stop staff may ask for your help at times, please be accommodating.
To avoid a lengthy chase, you may wish to surrender by stopping, sticking your hands in the air and shouting, "I am a cheese eating surrender monkey".
Should a GHOST get very tired (before the 30 kills) he / she may ask to swap with you. This is known as the "Italian Defence". It is an honour to be asked and should be graciously accepted.
If much later in the game you wish to try your hand at being a GHOST, you should make yourself known to the BEER stop staff who may then give you a GHOST shirt and send you on your way. This is know as the "American Intervention" and should only be actioned during the final moments of the game.
If you are really keen to become a GHOST you may invoke the "German Overture". This is where you ambush a GHOST, steel his / her shirt, and then pillage the remaining PACMEN of BEER tokens. This will be resisted at all costs and will in all likelyhood invoke an "American Intervention".
During the game:-
PACMEN should call “Waga, waga waga waga”
GHOSTS should call “Whooa, whooa”
Killed PACMAN should “Whoi, woia woia, woia - woiar”
A PACMAN should call “Ha Ha” (Simpsonesque style) when caught with only a CHERRY.
If all the above seems ridiculously complicated, tough. Just follow the crowd, like all games, you learn as you play.
The game ends when there is no more BEER or after an hour and a quarter or when you get bored. At the end of the game the player with the greatest number of BEER marks will be the LAST PACMAN STANDING.
