David Kelly Community Service Scholarship - x2

This scholarship is awarded to both a male and female senior player on the Varsity Boys and Girls teams and will be presented at the end of season banquets.  The award honors the years of dedicated service Dave Kelly has given to Londonderry soccer and its youth.  The recipients will be selected by Dave Kelly based on a written essay (the author will be anonymous while in the selection process).  The theme of the essay is:  “Describe how soccer has played a role in your life”.  The player should relate how soccer has allowed them to contribute to the larger community and develop characteristics such as leadership, integrity, and responsibility.  There is no word limit for the essay.  It must be submitted via email to the boys and girls varsity head coach by November 4, 2023.  The coaches will remove the author information and submit the essays to the LGA Board, which will forward them to Dave Kelly for review and winner selection.

Brian Hanafin Memorial Scholarship - x1

This scholarship is awarded to a senior player on the boys’ varsity team and will be presented at the end of season banquet.  The boys’ varsity coach will select a player who has contributed to the LHS soccer program in a way that reflects the spirit and character of Brian Hanafin, an LHS soccer player who battled brain cancer for more than a year and died in 2004.  Brian was a graduate of the class of 2000, where he was tri-captain of the soccer team and in 1999 was named All New England High School Soccer player for New Hampshire.  He was also selected by his coaches for several team player awards.  He played for the ODT (Olympic Development Teams), as well as for multiple local and regional teams.  Brian was an excellent student and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at UNH in Durham.

Shannon MacDougall Memorial Scholarship - x1
