Native Americans and the University of New Mexico

Native Americans and the University of New Mexico offers a perspective on the history of Native Americans at the University of New Mexico and the relationship this institution has with Indigenous peoples. For the past five hundred years, Native Americans have had many challenges including education. This book shows how young men and women met those challenges and how they never lost sight of the fundamental principles of being a human being. It is with much hopefulness future Native American students, parents, community members, and such will learn from these experiences to help them tackle all of life’s challenges. While more stories need to be told and more needs to be investigated, this book is a part of a collection neither the beginning nor the end.
