Task 3 - Teacher (Wiki project)

In Task 3, you will explore technologies appropriate to teaching and learning, and create an authentic learning environment to share with other teachers.

Form groups (3-4 people) & select topic

Complete a group task where you create a small sharable education al resource on an educational topic of your choosing.

Group project brainstorming doc [Google docs] has some ideas for getting started working as a group and key areas that need to be decided upon by your group members. The following resources provide examples of authentic tasks that may assist you with ideas for creating your own authentic task

Create wiki site

Create your resource as an authentic learning environment on a wiki site (3-5 pages).

On your home page, ensure you clearly introduce your educational topic, the target student group (cohort) it would be suitable for, how it links to the curriculum and a description of the authentic task your students are required to complete for this teaching project. Also include your group member names (e.g., Teacher names: Fred Smith, Mary Green, Bill Bloggs)

Include links to resources including at least one of each of the following:

• • Interactive whiteboard resources. New! View student blog post about student registration & how to access the Learning Federation website (thank you Jodie for permission to link to your blog post).

  • Websites (e.g., Google search, Diigo bookmarks, etc)

  • Movies or podcasts (e.g., YouTube, TeacherTube, iTunes, etc)

  • Documents (e.g., articles in pdf format)

  • Social networking sites (e.g., Diigo, Twitter, Shelfari, etc.)

Present your work

• • Create a narrated online presentation (see suggestions below) to explain what your resource is about and the making of your resource.

Submit your work

• • Download the coversheet for this assignment task (on the LMS) and check the marking criteria to ensure you have completed all requirements for this task before you submit your work (upload completed coversheet on the LMS).
