If someone asked me 10 years ago, so when I was 11 years old, if I would want to go to Ohio State University (ahem I mean THE Ohio State University), I would respond ignorantly, "Where's Ohio?" I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and with Boston's rich history and academics and professional sports teams, I never really wondered what other states would be like, besides the given Disneyworld/land and New York, and California type places. It wasn't until two days before my first day of high school when we moved to Cincinnati, OH and that changed my whole life. And my fourth younger sibling was born a week prior, and I'm the oldest..so there's that. Two big takeaways:
Everything happens in life for a reason. Change is inevitable, embrace it. Of course, at the time: teen angst
Ohio is pretty awesome. My high school experience was drastically different than my small charter school that I went to in Massachusetts.
I knew I wanted a big all-encompassing college experience versus the small liberal arts vision that I had prior to moving, which has led me to Ohio State and I have loved all the experiences I have here and continue to make.
