I have worked with children all of my adult life!
I have taken a couple mission trips. In 1998, I went on a mission trip to Eastern Europe to teach Vacation Bible School. That was an amazing trip because I turned 18 over there. I have also taken many one-week mission trips to volunteer at Robin's Nest Orphanage in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Later, I did a longer 6-month stay.
I started as a live-in nanny at the end of March 2014 for a lifelong friend of mine. Although the family no longer needs a nanny I still watch the kids for them. The family has an 8-year old and a 5 year old. Since I have been with them for so long I am part of the family. I am also did part-time afternoon nanny for another family. The family scheduled changed , and they didn't need me any longer. The dad would drop off the child on his way to work, and the mom would pick her up on her way home form work. I had done a lot of babysitting for a friend of the mother I live with. I have also babysat for friends and relatives of mine. Some activities I do with the kids: go for walks, play outside, go to the park. I have taken trips with kids to the zoo, library, Science Museum, and indoor playgrounds if weather is bad.
I taught Sunday School for 8 years. The age level varied, from 4-years old to 2nd grade. It all depended on where they needed a teacher that year. Besides teaching Sunday School, I oversaw the church nursery for about 9 years. This started out as an unpaid position, but soon I received a stipend. I wasn't doing it for the pay; I did it because I enjoy working with kids.
If you are ready book head on over to the calendar page to see if I am available for date(s) you need. I am always happy to set up a meeting to meet the family before booking. I want the parents to feel comfortable leaving their kid(s) with me. Of course if you have any questions about dates, times, or about me please reach out to me. I do return phone calls at my earliest convenience. I respond to texts, and emails faster then phone calls.
