The Smart Materials and Intelligent Electronics (SMILE) Laboratory at UB-SUNY focuses on novel materials, device designs, and fabrication strategies to create intelligent systems for biomedical applications. The SMILE lab also means we need to engage in scientific research with an optimistic attitude 😃. 

The aim of the SMILE Lab is to encompass diverse, multidisciplinary, and coherent problems to develop advanced, innovative smart materials and intelligent electronics for personal healthcare monitoring, biomedical, and translational applications. Our long-term mission is to make scientific contributions to the emerging field of biomedical technologies for human healthcare.
