Getting Started
What is the Cost of Joining?
First - don't let the cost scare you off. It's not that expensive and Northern Star Council is able to assist if you need help. The person to see about assistance is the Committee Chair.
Second - The annual BSA registration fee is $180. This is paid directly to the Council thru their online enrollment/registration page. Then a new uniform runs around $50, but the shirt is good for several years, and the handbook is $16
Finally there are Pack Dues. These can vary a little each year depending on our Pack's annual plan of activities, but are generally around $130.
We are not worried about the Pack dues being paid up front. We run an annual fundraising campaign that can help offset a lot of the above costs. Scouting is actually quite reasonable considering all that your scout will be doing throughout the year.
When do we meet?
To verify meeting times, you can check the calendar here.
Den Meetings (when just one age group meets - with the Den Leader) are held once to twice a month and when there are specific outings.
Pack Meetings (when all of our scouts, K-5th grade, get together in the same place - with the Cubmaster) are normally held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm.
When is a good time to get started?
Like most Cub Scout Packs, we go nearly year-round. You can become a scout at anytime. Just contact our Cubmaster, Committee Chair, or a Den Leader in your age group - or, just show up at one of our meetings.....
