The Classical Voice of NC said: "Thomas Link made much of the role of the Nicholas, The Major Domo. His caressing of ladies’ furs and poignant lamenting of women beyond his social station was well done." Link performed the role of The Bonze in Capital Opera's critically acclaimed production of "Madama Butterfly" in May 2007. The Raleigh News & Observer opera critic describing the production noted that "...Additional assets included Tom Link's fierce Bonze..." In October of 2007 Tom appeared as Dr. Grenvil in Capital Opera's equally celebrated production of La Traviata.

On October 17 and 19, 2008, Link appeared in Capital Opera's production of Bizet's Carmen in the role of Zuniga. Classical Voice of NC said: " Capital Opera Raleigh's fine cast, particularly the principal singers, possessed the ability to make Carmen an exciting experience for the large appreciative audience. ... and I commend the performance of ... Thomas E. Link (Zuniga)."
