Thomas "Tom" Link is a regular performer and soloist with

The North Carolina Opera, Capitol Opera Raleigh , Longleaf Opera, and a long-time member of the world famous Duke University Chapel Choir.

Thomas (Tom) Emerson Link is a native of North Carolina and made his operatic debut with the Opera Company of North Carolina’s (OCNC) 2002 production of La Traviata-- conducted by Maestro Daniel Beckwith--appearing with the opera chorus and in the part of the Commissionaire in Act II. Tom has appeared in many other Opera Company of North Carolina productions in recent years including Samson et Dalila, Turandot, Merry Widow , Tosca (REVIEW), Il Barbiere di Sivilgia, and La Boheme.

Tom sang the roles of Betto di Signa in Capital Opera’s 2004 Gianni Schicchi, Blackbeard Teach in

Longleaf Opera’s 2005 Devil and Daniel Webster, the Jailer in OCNC’s 2005 Tosca ,

Antonio in Capitol Opera’s 2005 Le Nozze di Figaro (REVIEW), and the Major Domo Nicholas in

Longleaf Opera’s 2006 Vanessa. The Classical Voice of NC said: "Thomas Link made much

of the role of the Nicholas, The Major Domo. His caressing of ladies’ furs and poignant

lamenting of women beyond his social station was well done."

Link performed the role of The Bonze in Capital Opera's critically acclaimed production

of "Madama Butterfly" in May 2007. The Raleigh News & Observer opera critic

describing the production noted that "...Additional assets included Tom Link's

fierce Bonze..." In October of 2007 Tom appeared as Dr. Grenvil in Capital Opera's equally

celebrated production of La Traviata.

On October 17 and 19, 2008, Link appeared in Capital Opera's production of Bizet's Carmen

in the role of Zuniga. Classical Voice of NC said: " Capital Opera Raleigh's fine cast, particularly

the principal singers, possessed the ability to make Carmen an exciting experience for the

large appreciative audience. ... and I commend the performance of ... Thomas E. Link (Zuniga)."

Tom appeared in Capital Opera's 2009-2010 Season production of Cavalleria Rusticana. On January 21, 2011, Link joined Karine Eva and Jennifer Gaspar with accompanist Catherine Hamner for an Opera Luncheon Gala to relaunch the new Capital Opera Raleigh at the request of Capital Opera Founder, Kathleen Torchia.

Link was featured recently as one of the "False Witnesses" for the duet in the Duke University Chapel Choir and Orchestra's Spring Oratorio -- Mendelsohn's 'Saint Paul' -- on April 3, 2011.

In October 2011, Link appeared as Colas in the one-act Mozart opera "Bastien et Bastienne" with Capital Opera Raleigh and in a concert of famous arias, duets and trios during the second half of the event. Link performed the role of King Balthazar in eight performances of Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with Longleaf Opera in December of 2011. Link travelled to Greece and Turkey in concert with the Duke Chapel Choir from December 27, 2011 through January 7, 2012, for 5 performances of Handel's Messiah.

In May of 2012 returned to the stage to appear as Buff in Capitol Opera Raleigh's new setting of Mozart's "The Impresario". In August of 2012, Link appeared with other local opera singers of "Singer's Circle" in concert at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Raleigh, and returns for "A Singer's Circle Christmas Concert" at St. Michael's on December 14, 2012 - REVIEW.

In April 2013, Link presented a solo concert at Ruggero Piano Company's Bosendorfer Hall, with opera arias from Ernani, La Sonambula, La Boheme, Roger Quilter Arranged "Old Songs", and a medley from "Showboat" with accompanist Kate Lewis. Excerpts on YouTube

Link was a featured performer in 'Songs of Love and Loss" produced by Singer's Circle in August 2013 and a Christmas concert at the New Chapel Hill Library in December 2013.

In June 2014, Link returned to both Host and perform in Capitol Opera Raleigh's double bill of Mascagni's "Zanetto" and Opera Favorites at the Kenan Recital Stage at Peace University in Raleigh, NC.

In 2015 Link is scheduled to reprise his role as Dr. Grenvil in "La Traviata" with Capitol Opera Raleigh, and "Shakespeare Songs" with Singers Circle.

Throughout 2016 and 2017 Link continued touring with the Duke Chapel Choir, performing with Vox Virorum, and other regional groups, and small venue concerts. Link is now working on producing a Spring Concert for the Vernal Equinox, "Lovers Awake" for Singers' Circle of the Triangle--watch for details in early 2022!

Link studied with renowned soprano Elizabeth Linnartz and Metropolitan Opera star Christine Weidinger. Link has been a featured peformer in Weidinger Studio Opera past performances like the "Grand Ol' Opera" and "A Night at the Opera" productions and Triangle Opera Studio Galas.

Link won the National Association of Teachers of Singing Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition’s 1st Prize for the Classical Division in April of 2006 -- and was a prize winner and finalist in the

2004, 2005, 2006 North Carolina Statewide competitions.
