Through ballads, broadsides, love songs, marches, drinking songs, dance tunes and Revolutionary War anthems, Linda brings the 18th Century to life.

19th Century America in Song

This is a time rich with Stephen Foster songs, Hutchinson Family tunes, the hymns of Lowell Mason and Thomas Hastings, parlor ballads, campaign songs and the Celtic melodies of Robert Burns and Thomas Moore.

Songs and stories of America’s past from 1776 to 1976! Linda sings love songs, humorous ditties, patriotic anthems, work songs and tunes from America’s wars as well as a hit or two from the 1950’s. Included will be audience sing-alongs, like Yankee Doodle, O Susanna, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy, The Tennessee Waltz and This Land is Your Land.

The story of the Hudson River as seen through the songs that reflected life in the Hudson Valley throughout its history. Included are songs of the Revolution, of Erie Canal boatmen and pirates, of steamboats and lost love.
