Sitting volleyball is another version of Volleyball that has been adapted to allow anyone to participate, male or female, young or old, able bodied or disabled.
It is played sitting down but this does not mean that it is a 'lazy' sport for non-athletic people, if you ask anyone that has played it, they will tell you that there is a lot of movement and it is very physically exerting with no time to sit still!
The game is also an excellent vehicle for players returning from injury during rehabilitation.
The main differences between sitting and standing are:
The Court
This is smaller 10m x 6m (2m attack zone)
The Net
This is lower 1.15m for men and 1.05m for women
Seated
Players remain seated on court during play
The Service
Service can be blocked
Speed
The passage of play is quicker due to reduced court size
