The Lincolnaires by Frank King
The Lincoln City Lincolnaires has been a musical gift to north Lincoln County for more than 50 years. The singing group of 17 voices has been a cultural staple for the area for more than 50 years.
The group's repertoire ranges from folk, country, jazz-swing, pop, traditional and hymns. The song menu is changed each month.
Dolores Morgan, the group's primary founder, set the inclusive tone that the group follows to this day. She passed away three years ago.
The Lincolnaires is sponsored by the Lincoln City Senior Center and the group practices at 10 a.m. Tuesday every week from September through May. The chorale performs at Lakeside and Hilltop assisted living facilities each month, and for special community and organization events.
The group continually seeks new members and there are no prerequisites as to musical experience or age. All are welcome to join. For more information, or to sign up, contact: Gordon McMinn at: gordonm84@gmail.com.
