My research interests are in antitrust economics, Industrial Organization, and applied game theory. I have also worked on multinational enterprises and on the underground economy. My work was published, among others, in the Journal of Industrial Economics, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, and World Development.
I hold a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute (Florence, Italy), a B.Sc. in Economics from Vienna University of Economics and Business (Vienna, Austria), and I obtained graduate training in economics at the Institute for Advanced Studies (Vienna, Austria) and University of Rochester (NY, USA).
After obtaining my PhD, I held appointments as Assistant Professor at the economics departments of University of Vienna and of LUISS University in Rome. Currently, I am a State Aid Coordinator at the Chief Economist Team of the European Commission (DG COMP). Before that, I was a member of cabinet of EVP Margrethe Vestager (2023-2024), and I had various roles at DG COMP's Chief Economist Team from 2016 to 2023. In 2021/2022, I also spent a year as economist at the EFTA Surveillance Authority (Competition & State Aid Directorate).
