Let's Celebrate!
Tuesday night was incredible, the students performed well for our fall concert, we had tons of parent volunteers running things beautifully, AND we met our target goal!
This year, we successfully raised a total of just over $25k! There will be some fees, pizza costs and a few supplies coming out of that in the end but we are blown away! A gigantic THANK YOU to our FANTASTIC Ligon community in Raleigh and all the wonderful alumni and advocates from all over who donated to support these amazing students.
The students had a fun-filled evening and participated on many levels from performing a concert to winning raffle prizes, Karaoke, a Photo Booth, Band Olympics, and of course the Instrument Toss! (with instruments that can no longer be repaired)
We feel incredibly fortunate to have such unwavering parent and community support!

It’s Band-A-Thon time! Ligon Band’s annual Band-A-Thon fundraiser is one of our students’ favorite events of the year because it celebrates exactly what we’re all about—making music together!
WHAT IS BAND-A-THON
Band-A-Thon is a fundraiser that runs from October 7-28. During this time, students are encouraged to collect donations from family and friends. The fundraiser wraps up on October 28 with our annual informal Band-A-Thon concert, followed by an evening of fun activities for students who have raised at least $25.
OUR GOAL
We’re asking each student to raise at least $25, with the overall goal of raising $25,000. Employer matching gifts have also been a huge help in past years – many parents have doubled their impact this way!
WHY IT MATTERS
The money raised goes directly back into our band program. Funds help us:
Purchase new instruments and music
Bring in guest clinicians
Provide scholarships
Cover repairs and other essential needs
Past Band-A-Thon fundraisers have enabled us to purchase 25+ new instruments and 95 new music works, bring in professional clinicians to work with our young musicians, and much more – making a real and lasting impact on the Ligon Band program!
