About Us

First off, I want to give a special shout out to my younger sister! I would not be able to set up my display in time if it wasn't for her help. She's my right-hand man! (or woman) Maybe one day I'll let her program one of the songs for the show!

I am currently a college student and I have been decorating my parents' house since I was in Eighth Grade. I remember the moment when I decided to decorate the outside of our house for the next Christmas. In Seventh Grade my older brothers put up lights in our tree and on the roof line. I loved how the tree looked lit up and we gave it the name, "The Cactus Tree" because it looked like a cactus with the lights wound around the big branches. Of course I am a mild perfectionist, and the lights around the roof just didn't look good. They clipped the lights on about every 9 feet so it drooped a lot, but what really got me was on the side of the house the lights had gotten loose and fallen. Guess what... it stayed like that for the rest of the Christmas season. Getting back on topic.... the first box of lights I picked out was at Wal-Mart during the after Christmas sale. I picked out three boxes of blue icicles for our roof.

A year flew by and when it came time to decorate, I pounced right onto that roof and hung those lights. We had a lot of leftover lights from previous years that I found and used them. Once i plugged all the lights in, I stood back and admired my work. Right there and then, my addiction with Christmas Decorating was ignited.

Although my displays were on the small side the first two years, it never stopped me from going bigger. My family is always on a budget and my decorating was not top priority in my parents' checkbook. So I made sure to hit the after Christmas sales every year and get cheap lights.

My mega rush came during December of 2010 when my display was up with about 1,700 lights. I was on YouTube one day and of course since it was December, Christmas Displays were Hot (pun) on YouTube. I ended up watching about a hundred different displays choreographed to music. It was then that I decided to go computerized! The 2010 after-Christmas sale shopping trip was my biggest. We picked up about 6,000+ new lights for our 2011 display. It was the start of something big.

And from there I have gotten the Extension cords and Light-O-Rama Products. I run my show with 64 channels of Light-O-Rama. I have learned most of what I need to know about Christmas decorating from the forums of Planet Christmas.

This is how our display began and I can't wait to see what the upcoming years have in store for us!
