Guaraci Duran Cordeiro (PhD)

graduated in Zootechnics at Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (2005), and got his Master(2009) and PhD (2015) at the University of São Paulo in Entomology. For his Master degree he studied the nesting biology of solitary bees and in the PhD the pollination biology of cambuci (Campomanesia phaea -Myrtaceae). He did postdoctoral researches in chemical ecology at University of São Paulo (2016-2017) studying the floral volatiles that attract nocturnal bees and at University of Salzburg (Austria) (2019-2021) the effects of climatic changes on floral volatiles of crop species and their attraction of pollinators. His current lines of research address the areas of pollinator-plant interactions, inventories and monitoring of pollinator, and bee biology. Leonardo´s father.

Carla Faleiro Tinoco (PhD)

graduated  in ecology and environmental analysis (UFG, 2014), has a MSc in ecology (UnB, 2017) and did her PhD (Dec 2022) in our lab where she studied how landscape and soil chemical properties affect ecological interactions (pollination and herbivory) and the success of ecological restoration actions .  She conducted an experiment in which seedlings of species used for ecological restoration in the Cerrado receive different levels of fertilization and undertake field trips to evaluate restored Cerrado areas in the upper Xingú basin.

She was involved in the EUCLIPO project (Effect of EUtrophication and CLimate on POllinators and ecosystem service provision, 2018-2021)

From March 2023 to Feb 2024 she will continue to develop her research through a posdoc in FlowerLab University of Coimbra linked to the RESICLIM project.

Nicholas Mazzei (MSc)

is a biologist with a master degree in animal biodiversity (UFG/Brazil, 2018). He is mainly interested in macroecoloy, spatial modeling and paleobiology in general. His current research is focused on the macroecological aspects of the relationship among bees body size and other life-history traits such as sociability and dietary preferences under different environmental conditions. He works at the Community Ecology Lab under supervision of Luísa, with professor Fabrício Villalobos as co-supervisor.

Renata Souza (MSc)

is a biologist and master in Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation (UFMT, Brazil, 2018). She is interested in understanding how ecological and evolutionary processes, in the face of the different ongoing environmental changes, can influence the interaction patterns between plants and pollinators in ecological networks.

Waira Saravia Machida (MSc)

is a Japanese-Bolivian Ph.D. student, master in ecology (UnB, 2021), and graduated in biology (UnB, 2019). She's interested in plant ecology, functional ecology, and morphometric geometrics. She´s currently interested in the effects of vegetation structure on pollinator communities.

Her PhD project is linked to the RESICLIM project, and also linked to the project "Tropical forests responses to a changing climate: a quest at the interface between trait-based ecology, forest dynamics and remote sensing" led by Jesus Aguirre-Gutierrez (Oxford University), who cosupervises her PhD.

Luiz Henrique Oliveira (MSc)

is graduated in biology (2019) by Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (PUC Goiás) where he studied Morphometry / Soil use in hidrografic basins. He did is M.Sc student in the lab (2022) where he evaluated how floral resources and frutification are affected by differents inputs of nutrients and he is now doing is PhD to further explore how such impacts propagate to higher trophic levels and change through space. He likes to play rpg games, watch animes, practice Krav magá and in his free times programming in python.

Stênio G. Gomes (MSc)

is a PhD student, graduated in ecology and environmental analysis at Federal University of Goiás (UFG, 2019), where he also did is MSc (2022). His current interest is to understand how the patterns of ecological interaction can be affected by habitat fragmentation and associated environmental changes. To achieve this, he is using a plant-pollinator interaction networks from diverse biomes. He also spends some time cooking and growing spices and tea leaves.
