Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family. ~Kofi Annan
I have always had a passion for teaching. After receiving my bachelor's degree, I worked as a language assistant at Lycee de Bellvue (high school) in Saintes, France. Then, after receiving my master's degree, I joined the staff of World View, a public-service program that provided global education professional development to K-12 and community college educators in North Carolina. During my doctoral studies, I was a teaching assistant in the Department of Political Science for American History, Comparative Political Systems, and Introduction to Political Science Research.
At the core of my teaching philosophy is a commitment to student learning and success. I approach subject matter with enthusiasm; respect students and their diverse opinions, backgrounds, and learning styles; and encourage integrity and responsibility in attendance and coursework.
Past students have found me to be “prepared for class, engaging, and knowledgeable about the material”, “good at explaining concepts in multiple ways,” “willing to have a dialogue,” and “genuinely interested in student success."
