I am Professor of Economics at Economics Institute of the Universidad de la República (UdelaR - Uruguay) and Head of Economics Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the Udelar - Uruguay.

My research has dealt with the economics and politics of fiscal policies, decentralization and federalism, the relationship between economic growth, inequality, and institutions, and the determinants and consequences of government quality.
