I currently serve as chief economist of the Rockefeller Institute of Government having previously been a postdoc in the Department of Education at Brown University. I have a PhD in Economics from Cornell University. My research with the Rockefeller Institute is available here.

I specialize in education, labor, and health policy research. My work focuses on assessing the causal impact of public policy using both quantitative and qualitative methods. I have worked with New York State agencies and nonprofit organizations on topics including the care workforce, employment for people with disabilities, civil service exams, K-12 and postsecondary education policy, and the overdose epidemic.

I am also a lecturer at the University at Albany in the graduate Department of Education Policy & Leadership and the lead instructor for the education component of the Empire State Fellows program.
