K-1st Grade Homework

All students will complete the monthly calendars for their grade level. Completed calendars will be turned in at the start of the following month. Don't forget to sign it! *The actual homework papers do not need to be turned in.

Please read for at least 20 minutes a day.

We encourage you to help your child memorize their addition and subtraction facts. Kindergartners are expected to memorize their addition and subtraction facts to five and first graders to ten. Students can practice math facts through flashcards, you may quiz them orally when you're at home or driving in the car, worksheets, and a variety of apps, such as Flash to Pass.

Optional Writing Homework

In the second trimester, students can do one writing prompt per week. Students should use their sounds to write and do their own writing. You can help your child sound out words and remind them to use spacing, punctuation as well as use upper and lowercase letters correctly. Have your child read their back writing to you and draw a picture to go with it. Kindergartners should write at least 2 sentences and first graders should write at least 5. If it is difficult for your child to do this in one sitting, space it out over a few days.

Students should turn their writing in on Monday mornings in their folder. Don't forget to have their name and date on the paper! Thank you!
