Family of Wong from Lau Wong Town, Fung Seon County, Guangdong Province, China
(中國 廣東省 豐順縣 留隍鎮 黄氏家族)
The first recorded event of the Family of Wong was on December 8, 1633 (明崇禎六年) when Cang Zeng1 (曾貞娘), future wife of our First Ancestor Gung Seng (拱星公), was born. It happened near the end of the Ming Dynasty under Emperor Sung Zan (崇禎). Since then, the family has grown and branched out all over the world.
The history of the family was preserved by the vision and hard work of 8G2 Wai Cai (維齊公), 9G Alexander (昭豐公), and 9G LIN Zi Sam (林自森公). The Family History (家史) in Chinese was completed and published in 2002. Besides the history, it also gives us a solid base to connect with family members.
The updating of the family history and the family tree is ongoing, requiring the cooperation of all members in the family. Most of the information is in Chinese which should be translated into English for wider audiences. Please check the information provided here and send your updates, photos, documents, corrections, comments, privacy concerns, suggestions, translations, etc. to Alan Wong via email at lauwongtown@gmail.com
We need your active participation in this worthwhile task to maintain the Family of Wong website. Thank you.
Best Regards,
10G Alan HL Wong

Some of the Chinese names are translated to English based on a Cantonese pronunciation standard. Others are based on commonly used translation, e.g. 曾 can be translated into Cang or Tsang.
The alpha numeric number before a name shows the generation of the person, e.g. 10G Alan HL means Alan HL Wong belongs to the 10th generation.
