Laura Capuano

Hello! My name is Laura Capuano and since November 2021 I am a "Ricercatore a tempo determinato tipo B (tenure track)" at the University of Roma Tre.

From July 2019 to October 2021 I was a "Ricercatore a tempo determinato (tipo A)" at the Politecnico di Torino.

Previously, I was a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford in the EPSRC project "Model theory, functional transcendence and diophantine geometry" (P. I. Prof. Jonathan Pila) and a Stipendiary Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at Pembroke College. Before this, I was a PostDoc at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa under the supervision of Prof. Umberto Zannier, as part of the ERC-Advanced Grant “Diophantine problems”.

I obtained my PhD in Pure Mathematics in 2014 at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Umberto Zannier.

My interest research focus on Number Theory and Diophantine Geometry. In particular my actual field of research is in problems of "Unlikely Intersections". Other interests are the theory of heights in Diophantine Geometry the application of o-minimality to Number Theory and to Diophantine Geometry.
