Ethics for Mental Health Professionals by far in one of my favorite psychology class. In this class I learned the ethical and legal issues related to human service professions. Responsibility, competency, duty to warm, confidentiality, professional relationship, and professional licensing standards, and procedures are some of the topic I learnt in detail about. One thing I enjoyed most about Ethics class was that I got a change to role cases that are seen in real life situations. It was very helpful to have a visual representation of what was being read. There is a lot of beneficial information that can be taken from this course but client-patient confidentiality and competency was what I find to be most important and useful when I start my professional career as clinical psychologist.
At this point I think I have began to become more of a professional writer, rather than writing to gain a good grade. I believe my choice and use of vocabulary have improved tremendously.I chose this research not just show my research and formatting skills but to show my knowledge in the area of confidentiality when it come to reporting child abuse. In doing this research I was able to find that mental health professionals have to worry about the rights their patient have and if any of those are altered, then reputation and licence could be lost as a result.
