Mikaely Schmitz, MS CCC-SLP is dually certified in Speech and Language Pathology and English as a Second Language- holding Master's Degrees in both fields.
Mikaely works full time speech and language pathologist employed by Milwaukee Public Schools, in a Title One Bilingual (English/Spanish) Elementary School. Additionally she provides clinical speech and language pathology services in both an acute inpatient setting and pediatric outpatient setting for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee. Mikaely has designed and implemented language rich play and play based phonology groups in a pediatric outpatient setting through Wheaton Franciscan- capitalizing on the value of both play and peer interactions to support language enrichment and growth.
Mikaely is also an instructor for McPherson College Milwaukee Center, teaching "Creating a Language Rich Educational Environment". Additionally she is a member of the adjunct faculty in the College of Education at Viterbo University, teaching a number of courses in the graduate special education program related to language acquisition, typical/atypical communication development, individualized assessment and special education planning. Mikaely also supervises practicum students during their educational placements in a variety of educational settings throughout Wisconsin for Viterbo University.
Mikaely Schmitz graduated with a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Marquette University in May 2001 and a M.S. in Speech Language Pathology from Marquette University in May 2003. Mikaely completed her M.A. in Second Language Acquisition/ English as a Second Language in December 2014, graduating from Western Governor's University.
