Winter Meeting Agenda
2/15/2025
Present: Mark Neff, Charlie Shultz, Rob Troxell, Scott Uhl, Dennis Spock, John Kerchner, Dale Mackley
1. GHIN – discussion about what GHIN is, what it costs, and would it benefit us in anyway. Decided that for now, it doesn’t really fit our needs. Those of you who use it are free to explore options with Dale for sharing your data.
2. Dues – based on a previous discussion at the officers meeting, we voted for dues to be $60 for 2025. Dues can be paid now, and should be paid before the start of the season.
Either use the link on our website to pay your dues, or mail a check (made out to Lancaster County Golf Club) to Dennis Spock, 130 Conway Drive, Lititz, PA, 17543.
3. Officers – All of the officers present stated that they are willing to continue in their present position, so officers will continue in their current role.
4. CTP – all will play for all designated par threes, and will hit from their assigned tee box. Based on a consensus of comments from members, it seemed all would be happy if they had more opportunities to win, and were not concerned with what tee all played from. So we are basically going back to the way we used to conduct CTP, with all players competing for each designated CTP hole, from whatever tee box there are assigned for the given round. We also now have a CTP coordinator, who will manage collection, selection of holes, and collection of money for each tournament. That person may ask foursomes to distribute markers, and/or to collect the markers at the conclusion of play. Carl Kline has volunteered to take on this responsibility for 2025.
5. Tournament Formats – all tournaments were discussed, and the decisions have been posted for each tournament under “tournament formats” on our website.
6. Open agenda
* we have decided to add a competition for low gross, similar to low net, which will be based on the four best scores for the year. The player who ends up with the low gross will have their dues paid for the coming season.
* tee box played should be declared at the beginning of the season. That decision will carry over from season to season. Players who would like to change tee boxes should email Dale prior to the start of the season. That is no different from previous seasons. We did make one change to tee box selection: if, for a given tournament, you would like to change your tee box, please notify the officer in charge of that tournament when you sign up. So for example, if you would like to play the July outing from the forward tees, you would simply notify the secretary of your intention. For that outing, your tee assignment will change. For the remainder of the year, you will revert to your declared tee box.
In summary, we do not care what tee box you play, as long as you notify the appropriate person prior to the tournament, The key here is simply to communicate your intentions.
