Membership Information

LEG’s membership fees include the annual club fee and the HRCAV insurance and levy. These fees are compulsory for all riding members. Optional subscription is also available to Chaff Chat, the HRCAV newsletter.

A club newsletter and constant emails is sent to all members keeping them up to date on club activities, clinic details, upcoming competitions, member news, results etc. Contributions from members are always welcome.

Rallies/Clinics are held on the SECOND Sunday and the FOURTH Wednesday (twilight during daylight savings period, if requested) of each month, usually at our club grounds in Lancefield but occasionally at a different venue for specialist requirements. Rallies consist of a flat work lesson jumping and or x-country lessons. Riders are welcome to only participate in one lesson if they so choose.

Bookings for Rallies/Clinics in advance are necessary either by email or in an emergency by phone .

Committee meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month and topics for discussion or points of concern from clubmembers are always welcome on the agenda. All members are welcome to attend. The venue is usually advertised in the Club’s Newsletter.

Upon joining LEG you will be sent your HRCAV membership and performance cards for each discipline: dressage, combined training, show jumping, horse trials, showing. Prior to competing in an official event you must have your membership card stamped by the club secretary or treasurer and you and your horse will need to be level assessed by an accredited HRCAV level assessor. Your graded level, is based on the experience of horse and rider, which is noted on your performance cards to dictate your relevant competition class. LEG organises assessments periodically throughout the year or you can contact any of several local accredited assessors and make your own arrangements at any time. Once you have completed these two processes you are able to compete at official HRCAV competitions – a great way to get involved in competing in a low-stress, friendly environment. The club uniform is compulsory at all official competitions and optional at rallies. The uniform consists of white or light coloured jodhpurs and either a black polo shirt with LEG logo or a white shirt, yellow tie and black V-neck pullover or black riding vest with LEG logo. Black saddlecloths with gold binding complete with logo are also available and are part of the compulsory competition uniform.

LEG holds several competitions and/or activities throughout the year as well as various social functions. While the club encourages active and enthusiastic members there is no minimum number of rallies or events which you must attend.

Should you wish to join us at LEG you need only complete the attached membership application and waiver form and forward it, together with the relevant payment, to the Club Secretary. This form will then be tabled at the next Committee Meeting, where you will be accepted as a member of LEG. This process may take a little while as it is dependent on when the form was received and the next meeting takes place. Please note that you do need to be proposed and seconded. Upon approval of your membership a newsletter and letter of welcome will be sent to you informing you of the next rally or event to be held.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Club Secretary, Annie Lavelle.

Thank you for your interest in joining LEG and we look forward to having you become part of the club.
