Lake Constance is a couple hundred feet from the house. It’s probably about a mile long and maybe 250 yards across. It is more than 20 feet deep in some areas. We share a dock with our neighbors on the left hand side (the Zeglands).
Parking is available under the trees in front of the house, and on the right hand side of the house.
The road is paved at the start of Rocky Run Road, but becomes a dirt road when you veer right at the fork in the road toward Lake Constance.
What to Bring for the Weekend:
The Sunshine!
Food and Drink. There is an IGA in Hawley and a Super Wal-Mart in Honesdale (the next town over) if you’d rather not haul any groceries up with you.
Pillows (if you want your own stuff)
Bedding (if you want your own stuff – most of the beds up there are full-sized)
Sweatshirt, jeans, or something warm to wear in the evening (it can get cool in the mountains)
Sunscreen
Bug Spray
Water Shoes, Tevas, or Old Sneakers
Comfortable shoes or hiking boots
Beach Chair (for the dock, if you want to bring your own)
Board Games
DVDs
Small Fan
Flashlight
Fishing Pole or Water Sports Equipment (keep in mind there is fishing equipment up there plus a kayak, row boat, a canoe and a paddle boat…also, there are lifejackets avail.) – No gas powered stuff is permitted on the lake.
Your Bike (if you want it)
Dogs are definitely welcome – just keep in mind that there may be some dogs already there with other families and for the most part they are not on leashes
Cell phones – I’m pretty sure you will get service up there (Verizon works best)
You Don’t Need to Bring:
The RainL
Bath towels & other linens
Swim towels
Dishes, glasses, cooking equipment, etc.
