Tour Guide (x3)
Do you enjoy learning about history and working with the public? If so, this job is for you. The Lac La Biche Mission Historical Society is looking for energetic individuals to fill positions as Tour Guides at the Lac La Biche Mission Historical Site. The Mission is situated on the scenic shores of Lac La Biche lake (67453 Mission Road) in northeastern Alberta.
As a Tour Guide, you will provide guided tours of the site, sharing information about the site and local history with our guests. You will also be provided with an opportunity to work on special projects relating to displays/exhibits being developed on the site. You may also be assigned tasks relating to archiving, sales, special events, site beautification/cleanliness, administration, etc.
The salary is $16.50/hour. We encourage participation from youth with a disability, Aboriginal youth, visible minorities and new Canadians. We are seeking applicants with the following qualifications:
Bilingual in both official languages
Have a post-secondary education in museum, heritage field or education (preferred)
Interest in Alberta history
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Lively, positive, and enthusiastic energy
Advanced public speaking and communication skills
Basic skills to operate a computer and a cash register
Between 16 and 30 years of age
Willing to commit to working 35 hours per week from May 15 to the end of August 2023 (willing to accomodate high school students who will be available full-time only in June)
Own transportation to worksite required (no public transportation to worksite available)
Tour Guide Supervisor (x1)

The Lac La Biche Mission Historical Society is looking for one individual to fill the position of Tour Guide Supervisor at the Lac La Biche Mission Historical Site. The Mission is situated on the scenic shores of Lac La Biche lake (67453 Mission Road) in northeastern Alberta.
As a Tour Guide Supervisor, you will provide guided tours of the site, sharing information about the site and local history with our guests.
