We invite both undergraduate and graduate students to join our lab. They can gain knowledge and contribute to the design of brain-computer interfaces towards real-life applications (歡迎研究生與大學部專題生加入).

2024.8.12 The 5th EEG Summer Workshop. Our lab is organizing the 5th EEG summer workshop at NSYSU during Aug. 12~16 this year. The topics cover fundamental rationale and coding practices of temporal, spectral, and spatial EEG analysis and machine learning, as well as hands-on EEG experiments. We have 25 participants from 10 laboratories and 6 universities (NCCU, Academia Sinica, CGU, NYCU, NCKU, and NSYSU) joining us this year.

2023.10.9 New journal paper. Wei-Jen and Hsing-Yi's work entitled "Electroencephalogram-Driven Machine-Learning Scenario for Assessing Impulse Control Disorder Comorbidity in Parkinson’s Disease Using a Low-Cost, Custom LEGO-Like Headset " has been accepted for publication by IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems & Rehabilitation Engineering.
2023.9.19 New journal paper. Shang-You's work entitled "Movement Artifact Suppression in Wearable Low-Density and Dry EEG Recordings Using Active Electrodes and Artifact Subspace Reconstruction" has been accepted for publication by IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems & Rehabilitation Engineering.

2023.6.27 The 4th EEG workshop. Our lab is organizing the 4th EEG summer workshop at NSYSU during Aug. 14~18. 23 students from 9 labs (6 universities) will participate in this workshop. The topics cover fundamental rationale and coding practices of temporal, spectral, and spatial EEG analysis and machine learning, as well as hands-on EEG experiments.
2023.6.23 New granted project. Our NSTC Research Project titled "Developing an Adaptive Affective Brain-Computer Interface Infrastructure for Psychophysiological Modulations " has been granted (till 2026/7/31). This project is awarded with Project for Excellent Junior Research Investigators (國科會優秀年輕學者計畫).
2023.6.13 New lab member. Zhe-Cheng Liu joins our lab to work on his master's thesis.
2023.6.7 New conference paper. Hung-Yuan's work entitled "Validation of Model-Basis Transfer Learning for a Personalized Electroencephalogram-Based Emotion-Classification Model" has been accepted for Oral Presentation at the 45th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC'23), Sydney, Australia, 24-28 July 2023.
2023.3.31 Congratulations. Shin-Yuan successfully defended her master's thesis regarding "Parkinson's disease Research".
2023.3.21 New journal paper. Yi-Wei's work entitled "Cross-Day Data Diversity Improves Inter-Individual Emotion Commonality of Spatio-Spectral EEG Signatures Using Independent Component Analysis" has been accepted for publication by IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing.
2023.3.2 New lab member. Ya-Qi Yang joins our lab to work on her bachelor's project.

2020.5.5 New conference paper. Shang-You's work titled "Validating a LEGO-Like EEG Headset for a Simultaneous Recording of Wet and Dry-Electrode Systems During Treadmill Walking" has been accepted for presentation in the 42nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society this year.
2020.5.4 New conference abstract. Yi-Lu's work titled "Improving a Personalized EEG-based Affective Brain-Computer Interface Model towards Cross-day Prediction" has been accepted for presentation in the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society this year.
2020.4.21 New special issue. Dr. Lin is invited to organize a special issue in Sensors. The scope is about advancing the decoding of EEG signatures towards BCI practice in real world (link).

2019.10.30 New journal paper. Yi-Wei Shen's work titled "Challenge for Affective Brain-Computer Interfaces: Non-stationary Spatio-spectral EEG Oscillations of Emotional Responses" has been published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience (link).
2019.10.13 Taiwan-Latvia-Lithuania Joint Research Collaboration. Latvian and Lithuanian groups are visiting our lab during 2019.10.14~18 (link).
2019.10.2 New journal paper. Dr. Yuan-Pin Lin, Ting-Yu Chen and Wei-Jen Chen's work titled " Cost-efficient and Custom Electrode-holder Assembly Infrastructure for EEG Recordings " has been published in Sensors (link).
2019.8.17 Conference presentation. Yi-Lu Tsai and Wei-Jen Chen presented their works at WACBE 2019 (link).
2019.8.8 New lab member. Yi-Feng Shu and Yao-Hong Huang join our lab to work toward their master thesis.
2019.8.6 New journal paper. Dr. Yuan-Pin Lin's work titled "Constructing a Personalized Cross-day EEG-based Emotion-Classification Model Using Transfer Learning " has been accepted for publication in IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (link).
2019.8.5 The 2nd EEG workshop. Our lab is organizing the 2nd EEG summer workshop at NSYSU during Aug. 5~9. There are 20 students from 8 labs (7 universities) participating this training course. The topics cover ERP/SSVEP experiments, and basic time-frequency analysis and machine learning implementation (link).
2019.7.26 Taiwan-Latvia-Lithuania Joint Research Collaboration. Our lab members (Yi-Wei, Yi-Lu, and Hsing-Yi) are visiting Lativa and Lithuania Groups during Jul. 23 ~ Aug. 2 (link).
2019.6.25 Congratulations! Meng-Yu Yao's project proposal has been granted by MOST (科技部大專生專題研究計畫 108-2813-C-110-029-E).

2019.4.23 New equipment installed. Another computing server with GPU is online.
2019.4.1 New conference abstract. Wei-Jen Chen will present his work titled "Demonstrating a Collaborative Brain-Computer Interface Framework Using Cost-Efficient and Custom EEG Headsets " at the 9th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering (WACBE'19). Kai-Chiang Chuang is the co-author.
2018.12.12 New granted project. Our Taiwan-Latvia-Lithuania Joint Research Project titled "Brain-Computer Music Interfacing for Embodied Musical Interaction " has been granted (till 2021/12/31).
2018.11.21 New lab member: Meng-Yu Yao joins our lab to work on EEG research.
2018.11.4 New conference abstract. The work titled "Developing a Cost-efficient EEG Acquisition Device with a 3D-printed Self-assembled Electrode Holder" has been accepted and selected as Oral Presentation at Global Conference on Biomedical Engineering (GCBME) in Taoyuan, Taiwan (Hsing-Yi Liang and Kai-Chiang Chuang are the main authors) .
2018.8.10 1st EEG training course : Our lab is holding the 1st EEG training course at NSYSU campus during Aug. 13~17. Three labs and 13 students join this summer course. The topics are about ERP and SSVEP analysis using machine learning and independent component analysis.

2017.3.29 Conference paper accepted: Our work titled "Developing a Portable EEG Platform for Real-life Applications: Preliminary Demonstration" is selected as an Oral Presentation by Symposium on Engineering, Medicine, and Biology Applications (SEMBA'17). Kai-Chiang Chuang is the first author.
2017.3.13 Congratulations! Dr. Lin is recognized by Marquis Who's Who 2017 for excellence in Electrical Engineering.
