It was a great honor to have the chance to visit Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU) in South Korea. Thank you so much Dr. Kyu-Jung Chae at KMOU, who kindly invited us and organized the workshop. We truly enjoyed the visit to KMOU.
Kyoung-Yeol attended the ACS Spring 2025 meeting in San Diego and presented his recent research work, "Selective ammonia and volatile fatty acid recovery using Faradaic/non-Faradaic electrochemical reactions with activated carbon membrane electrodes." I enjoyed the conference, although no photos were taken of me.
It was my pleasure to be an instructor for ESE graduate students in the Fall 2024 semester. They've been great students/audiences throughout this semester. I truly enjoyed all the lectures that started at 7: 30 am.
Kyoung-Yeol visited Penn State University and gave an invited talk to lab members of the Logan group (Thanks a lot for this invitation!!). Now the entire Civil and Environmental Engineering department moved to the new building. It is sad to hear that most of the spaces that I enjoyed will be demolished soon. But I am glad I had a chance to visit Sackett before it disappeared.

We visited the Albany wastewater treatment plant (South plant) for a tour. It was very nice time to see the whole processes that we are learning in the classroom.
Our department had a lab tour (though I am not in the photos...) for the people who attended to UAlbany Open House.
We are welcoming our new graduate student Daniel Moreno Jiménez, who will join Kim research group from Fall semester 2019. Danial has been awarded the scholarship funded by CONACYT in Mexico. Daniel will be supported a total of $116,728 until Aug 31, 2023 (4 years).
Dr. Jongkwan Park received a new job offer. Dr. Park will start his new job (Assistant Professor) at Changwon National University in South Korea. He will officially start his work at CNU from 9/1/19. Congratulations and good luck with your new job !!
