MOWW outreach programs span the nation and involve hosting patriotic education and ceremonies, recognizing excellence in Senior and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets, sponsoring activities and speakers involving national and homeland security issues, honoring law and order professionals, and sponsoring and restoring monuments and memorials.
In concert with those with whom we have Resolutions of Cooperation, we work with other like-minded organizations, e.g., the Joe Foss Instititue, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the USA, National Society of Pershing Rifles, to host a variety of activities and events ranging from youth education to recognition of excellence. These events and activities also in clude MOWW's many ward and excellence recognition programs involving students, educational organizations, public officials and more.
YLC is normally held in the Fall during October and again in the spring as to not conflict with high school testing. The Massing of the Colors are held each year during the Veterans Day Parade.
MOWW hosts Youth Leadership Conferences (YLC), which which are included in the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) List of Approved Contests and Activities for Students. YLC classes are led by skilled by skilled instructors supervised by well-qualified team leaders and counselors.
