KX-Modular

This is an old site from 2012 which is focused on modular synthesizers and effects on Soundblaster Live!/Audigy (E-mu FX8010 DSP's) with KX-Driver devkit. There may still be some people who are interested. Note: The download links are significant slower if you are not logged in to your Google account.

The KX-Modular is a FX8010-based (also known as 10k1/2) DSP synthesizer running on Creative Labs Live! and Audigy sound cards in a KX-Project driver environment on Windows pc's. You can imagine it as a "Clavia Nord Modular" type of instrument with no latency operation and basically no CPU consumption. The signal processing code is written in the DSP's own assembler style which is quite familiar with other DSP's e.g. 56000 Motorola. The GUI is made in C++ within the KX-API and based on 3D rendered pictures.

Like in old moogish fashion it's monophonic, but can sound para phonic too via the KXM230 Soundfont (or another digital wave input) oscillator. There are analog oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFO's, amplifier's and some more you can see in the add-ons section. To get it to run, you have to have KX-Driver versions 3545b or 3550 on your pc. If so, then choose one of the setups below and run the installer.

Btw: Please don't ask me for newer versions. Still remember: legends never die. :)

Feel free to explore some more great DSP effects on this site I made, which use the KX-Api's standard GUI.
