Friday, July 29th, Market Square

12:00 noon - 10pm The Kuumba Marketplace will open the day's event with food and merchandise vendors from all over the world. Relish in the cultural spirit of the African Marketplace with traditional crafts, clothing, and foods.

12:30 - 3:00pm - West African Drum and Dance community Circle - everyone is welcome to participate

3:00pm - 5:00pm - Local talent showcase ,open Mic and spoken word

5:30pm - 6:30pm - Kuumba Watoto Dance and Drum Village Extravaganza and Indigenous Vibes. Amazing sounds and movements of traditional West African Drum and dance by artists of all ages.

6:30pm -7:00pm - Yvette Rice Productions presents - African Kings and Queens fashion show

8:00pm - Live Concert: MD and Cobalt Blue will bless the stage with Reggae and positive Vibrations.

Saturday, July 30th, Morningside Park/ Haley Heritage Square

12:00pm - 10:00pm - Enjoy the Kuumba Market Place with traditional crafts, clothing, and foods.

2:00 - 4:00pm - Live entertainment, Inspirational Movement and Youth empowerment

4:30pm - 6:00pm - Local talent showcase ,open Mic and spoken word

6:00pm - 7:30pm Kuumba Watoto Dance and Drum Village Extravaganza.

8:00pm - 10:00pm - Live Concert - DLY2 will bless the stage with his soulful sounds and Live band.

Our mission was developed from the need to provide the African/ Indigenous American community and the

Greater East Tennessee community incentive to promote social change through

culturally specific artistic programming and development.

***OUR HISTORY***

African American Appalachian Arts, Inc. (AAAA, Inc.) is a twenty-nine year old, non profit 501(c)3 cultural arts grassroots organization that focuses on positive social, economic and community development

by utilizing creative methods of education through cultural artistic programming and development. AAAA specializes in the presentation and development of cultural art forms in the African/ Indigenous Diaspora i.e.

traditional African art forms, Caribbean, South American, and American.

African American Appalachian Arts, Inc. coordinates and produces three primary projects:

The KUUMBA Festival, the Kuumba Watoto Urban Youth Institute / Kuumba Kamp and Haley Heritage Square International Literary and Storytelling Festival / Haley Heritage Square
