Don 'Ogbewii' Scott standing on the ground where his Gullah-Geechee ancestors were enslaved and buried on Spring Island, SC, just northeast of Savannah, Ga., on one of the largest plantations in the Sea Islands owned by the Edwards' family. Resting in the burial ground is John Fripp, aka Collins Mitchell, who is Scott's great-great-great maternal grandfather who served in the 21st United States Colored Troops (USCT).
